Board Member

Tony Lucero is excited to join the RiseUp community as a board member. Born and raised in Southwest Denver, Tony is a Denver Public Schools alum and has supported Denver education as a nonprofit manager leading teams to support targeted intervention support and as a high school business teacher who provided concurrent enrollment courses.

Tony is committed to equity in education. In addition to recruiting first-generation students to take part in free college credit courses as a teacher, he started a nonprofit dedicated to supporting first-generation students who want to become the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Currently, Tony is serving as a Mayoral Appointee in Mayor Johnston’s administration, specifically with the Mayor’s unhoused initiative. He graduated from CSU with a Business degree and an MBA from Regis University.
