School Social Worker
Scott believes that young people are natural leaders and loves working with high school students for their energy, creativity, and humor. He has worked with youth of various ages in after-school programs, nonprofit organizations, and in the classroom. Scott moved to Colorado from Minnesota in 2008 to attend college at CU Boulder where he received a degree in Spanish and Ethnic Studies. He then completed his Master of Social Work degree at the University of Denver in 2017. Scott is excited to continue helping young people navigate through their journey of learning and development as the School Social Worker at RiseUp. In his free time, Scott enjoys making art and music, watching Anime, and weightlifting.
What is Your Why?
I love working alongside young adults as they navigate defining their own identity in a world where that can feel like an insurmountable challenge. In my work, I create conversations and spaces for students to explore the unique aspects of their selves and embrace these as strengths that enrich the RiseUp community.
