Lisa Silverstein has been in education, working with urban youth and adults, for over 15 years. Most recently, she served as a faculty member and director at the Community College of Denver for 8 years. She is an expert in developmental /remedial education, acceleration, learning communities, faculty and curriculum development. She worked closely with the Hispanic Association for Colleges and University, collaborating with other institutions on a Minority Serving Institution grant, advocating for underrepresented populations access to higher education. Currently, she is a doctoral student in the School of Education at the University of Colorado Denver. In her spare time she reads, gardens and loves road trips, getting out to explore as much as she can: rock climbing, biking, skiing and most recently paddle boarding. Her family, including her three children, 14, 12 and 9, adventure with her too.
