Jean Scandlyn

Jean Scandlyn is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Anthropology and Health and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver. Over the past ten years, her research has focused on late adolescence and young adulthood in the United States, with a focus on young people who are politically, socially, and economically marginalized from mainstream institutions. Jean has participated in a community based health assessment in rural northern Peru and completed a Fulbright fellowship in Bolivia. She served on the Board of Directors of Urban Peak, a shelter for homeless and runaway youth in Denver and chaired the Board of Directors and was a founding member of The Youth Connection, a grassroots organization serving gang affiliated youth in Denver.
